Deep Tactician

The space left vacant today becomes a silent snare waiting for the next collision.

“That spot was left empty on purpose—it is for the next turn.”

On the board

Looks at the empty square that will be left behind before touching the stone to be moved. Conceals the direction of future collisions even within seemingly plain repositions. When the opponent steps into the predicted corridor, the waiting stone finally strikes. If unpredicted shots arrive, silently scans the board to reset the snare.

Strengths

  • Positions stones with foresight toward subsequent multi-step collisions
  • Preserves advantageous positions whose value is not immediately obvious
  • Steadily executes moves that narrow the opponent’s viable paths

Weaknesses

  • Picturing downstream collisions can let immediate winning shots slip away
  • Guarding spots for too long can allow intentions to be read by the opponent
  • Attempting to bottle up opponent paths can accidentally trap friendly retreat gates

Style matchups
